Your daily showers and little trips to the bathroom can quickly become mundane especially if you know that there is nothing new to the routine. Thankfully, breaking the monotony can be as easy as adding something new in the room—be it a new shower curtain, some décor, or something entirely out of the box.

If you are finding yourself bored with your room, it may be a sign that you need to spice up one of the least visible but most important parts of the house. Here are some quick and easy tips for redecorating your bathroom:

  1. Use silver instead of gold

Gold coloured mouldings and pipes are out of season. Go for the sleeker, cleaner feel of silver. Besides their modern aesthetic appeal, the neutral colour of silver makes it easy to blend with any shower curtain or wall colours. So if you want to make your bathroom look more harmonious regarding tone and elements, go for silver.

  1. Look at the floor

Is your tiled floor looking a bit bland? There are many other waterproof materials that you can use to replace your bathroom flooring, especially if you have the budget for it. Both DIY-ers and professionals can install wooden tiles and vinyl floor planks, and they give a more refreshing look compared to monochromatic tiles.

  1. Add waterproof décor

Take a quick look at your living room or bedroom and observe the ornaments that you placed there. You can add these to your bathroom too, so long as you install them correctly and waterproof them, of course. Make one wall stand out with waterproof wallpaper. Hang an oversized picture frame in one corner.

  1. Use patterns

Adding patterns to your bathroom will make it look energising. Use a polka dotted or checked shower curtain in time for the spring season. Use mosaic or patterned tiles to accentuate certain parts of the floor or ground. The possibilities are endless.

  1. Rethink organisation and storage

Sometimes, all it takes to make your bathroom look fresh is removing clutter. Find a way to store your makeup brushes, towels, or toiletries more neatly. The more organise your belongings, the more space you will free up, and the more breathable the bathroom will appear.

  1. Match everything

Try unifying the colours of the towels, toothbrush containers, and shower curtains for a few weeks: use all blue for one time, then turquoise for another week or so. What makes this simple trick interesting is that you will try to match the colours in the bathroom, and subsequently look forward to using the room.

Class does not need to be expensive

While whirlpool baths, classy steam showers, or Victorian era freestanding tubs make any bath fit for a king, making an effort to make the room look exciting is priceless. If you think creatively and keep an open mind, you will see that the bathroom might become your favourite part of the house to decorate.
